At the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good on Thursday (November 13), Ariana Grande was unexpectedly grabbed by a fan. The perpetrator was later identified as Johnson Wen – known on social media as “Pyjama Man” for notoriously crashing celebrity events – who rushed the red carpet and held Grande around the shoulders despite her attempts to pull away. Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly intervened, placing herself between Grande and the man while security removed him, as Michelle Yeoh comforted the visibly shaken star following the frightening incident. Wen later posted a video of the incident online, thanking Grande for allowing him to “jump on the yellow carpet.” Grande, who has spoken openly about her struggles with PTSD and anxiety following the bombing at her 2017 Manchester concert that killed 22 people, appeared distressed after the unsettling interaction, but she was supported by castmates Erivo and Yeoh who stayed by her side throughout the event.
